UF’s Strategic Goals: A Path to Implementation
January 28, 2016
Provost Joe Glover invited UF faculty and staff to a two-day symposium on Jan. 28 and 29 at Emerson Alumni Hall which focused on UF’s strategic goals and charting the course to national preeminence. The President’s Goal-Setting Task Force established the aspiration and seven goals for the University of Florida to be a premier university that the state, nation, and world look to for leadership.
On Jan. 28, President Kent Fuchs and Robert Birgeneau, Chancellor Emeritus of the University of California, Berkeley, and President Emeritus of the University of Toronto, led a discussion on national preeminence. Participants were encouraged to come armed with questions as there was time dedicated for conversation. On the second day of the conference, faculty workgroups were asked to propose implementation steps and share recommendations for how the university’s strategic goals might be met.
