Colburn Student Opportunity Fund

The Colburn Student Opportunity Fund provides need-based support to undergraduate students who have secured experiential learning opportunities in civic engagement, public leadership, public policy, and public service beyond the confines of the Alachua County community.

Eligible expenses may include, but are not limited to:

  • internships
  • conferences
  • fellowships
  • research

Awarded amounts may range from $500 – $1,500 depending on the funds available and the financial need of a Colburn applicant.

Applicants from any undergraduate major and college at the University of Florida may apply. Pell-eligible students are encouraged to apply.

Applications are due by the last day of classes the semester before the intended term of use. For example, if you apply for funds to be used in the Spring term, submit the Colburn Scholarship request by the last day of Fall classes.

The deadline to apply for a scholarship for Spring 2024 is Dec. 6, 2023.
The deadline to apply for a scholarship for Summer 2024 is Apr. 24, 2024.

The Graham Center may consider requests on a rolling basis if a student demonstrates adhering to the stated deadline was not possible, or compelling factors warrant such consideration. Scholarships will be considered until funds expire.

Recipients will be required to provide an impact statement within two weeks of completion of their experiential learning opportunity.
