Race, History and Political Participation in America

Two UF professors, Dr. Paul Ortiz and Dr. Sharon Austin, discussed their groundbreaking books on race, history and politics on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Pugh Hall Ocora, with a book sale that followed the public talk.
Their publications – 1)The Caribbeanization of Black Politics: Race, Group Consciousness, and Political Participation in America and 2) An African American and Latinx History of the United States, examine the impact, struggles and development of minority politics in America.
