Virtual Talk: Jimmy Carter and the Camp David Accords
October 6, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
On September 17, 1978 agreements between Israel and Egypt were signed at Camp David, leading to a peace treaty between the two countries the following year.
Join Joshua Montanari of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum for a virtual program about the Camp David Accords drawn from the primary historical documents and materials available through the Jimmy Carter library.
Members of the general public with an interest in this historical event will learn new facts and insights about the peace process. Instructors and professors who teach about the Middle East peace process or the Carter presidency will be able to learn about the resources that are accessible from the library.
This program is presented as a partnership with the Lou Frey Institute at the University of Central Florida; the Florida Joint Center for Citizenship; the Florida Association of Social Studies Supervisors; and the Florida Council for the Social Studies.
This is the first in a new fall series titled “Learning with the Libraries.” Future events are scheduled from the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and the Harry S. Truman Library.
