The American Jewish Community: Current Pictures, Future Possibilities with Laurence Kotler-Berkowitz
October 20, 2014
The Pew Research Center’s 2013 Survey of U.S. Jews has sparked widespread discussion about the current state of the American Jewish community and its future direction. The survey’s results paint a picture of a diverse community, with alternative signs of continuing cohesion, assimilation and division. Given today’s patterns, what might the future look like? Laurence Kotler-Berkowitz, Senior Research Director at The Jewish Federations of North America and an advisor to the Pew Research Center on the study, presented an overview the survey’s findings on the current state of American Jewry and discussed the possible future trajectories of the U.S. Jewish community on Monday, October 20. The event was held at the Bob Graham Center in Pugh Hall.
The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and the Center for Jewish Studies.
