As she continues her nationwide book tour, Professor Barnett will kick off this year’s President’s Luncheon Speaker Series with a fascinating overview of how she draws on cultural history and science to trace the long human love affair with seashells — and the hidden lives of the mollusks that make them — in The Sound of the Sea. Students will hear surprising stories, and the first 40 to sign up will receive a free copy of her new book.
