Presidential Historian Douglas Brinkley: Silent Spring Revolution

Join New York Times bestselling-author Douglas Brinkley for his talk “Silent Spring Revolution” about author Rachel Carson and other courageous women and men who helped influence presidents and other powerful insiders to spark an ecological revolution half a century ago.

 

As Florida and the nation grapple with climate change and resource exhaustion, what can we learn from the rise of environmental activism from 1960-1973 and the generation that helped save America’s environment under the leadership of John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon?

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Book sales, signing and a reception will follow the event.
