Mignon Clyburn: Overcoming America’s Digital Divide

MIgnon Clyburn is a former commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission.

Former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Mignon Clyburn spoke at the University of Florida on September 9 about expanding broadband access to marginalized communities in the United States as part of a new speaker series from the UF Warrington College of Business Digital Markets Initiative and the Bob Graham Center for Public Service.

The free event was held in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A livestream was available for those unable to attend in-person, all were invited.

As Congress and the Biden administration consider spending $65 billion in infrastructure expenditures to address digital disparities, Clyburn explained what it will take for the U.S. to see real results.
