Marsha Ternus — The Threat of Politicized Judicial Elections to the Rule of Law

Marsha Ternus, the former Chief Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court, had a vibrant and interesting discussion on the increasing politicization of judicial elections and the impact that has on judicial independence, and the fairness and impartiality of judicial decision making. Ms. Ternus spoke before a crowd of over 80 people, on Monday, September 10 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Paramount Hotel and Conference Center in Gainesville. The event was sponsored by the Florida Free Speech Forum and the Bob Graham Center.
