Guzmán, the inaugural McGurn Fellow for Media Integrity and the Fight Against Disinformation at UF, is the author of I Never Thought of It That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times, which shows people how to overcome fear and uncertainty to understand and even learn from people whose whole worldview is different from or even opposed to theirs.
Guzmán is currently the senior fellow for public practice at Braver Angels, the nation’s largest cross-partisan grassroots organization working to depolarize America. She is also founder and CEO of Reclaim Curiosity, an organization working to build a more curious world.
As a McGurn fellow, she is working with researchers at the UF College of Journalism and Communications’ Consortium on Trust in Media and Technology to better understand ways to employ techniques, including how to get radically curious across gaping cultural, social and political divides.
