Conflict in the Middle East: A Moderated Conversation on Israel & Gaza

Conflict in the Middle East is the first in the “Policy Over Pastries” series of civil discourse discussions sponsored by the Gators Vote Civic Engagement Cabinet. The purpose of the series is to pair leaders of campus student organizations with subject-matter experts and foster a productive yet relaxed small-group discussion about today’s most pressing issues.
Refreshments will be served. Seats are limited. We ask that you register before Dec. 5.
Facilitators
Dr. Matt Jacobs is an associate professor of U.S. and international history as well as the director of the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. He teaches courses on international politics and history. His research focuses on U.S.-Middle East relations.
Dr. Onursal Erol is the international experiential learning coordinator for the Bob Graham Center and a lecturer focused on the Middle East and North Africa. His research and teaching interests include the Middle East and North Africa, social movements, urban and environmental studies, and gender and sexuality.
Dr. Patricia Sohn is undergraduate coordinator for the Center for Jewish Studies and associate professor of political science at UF. Among her many research interests are micro-level politics; religion and politics, and comparative themes in Israel, Palestinians, Middle East and North Africa, and Jewish and Islamic topics.
