The Center for European Studies and the Graham Center are delighted to welcome to Mr. Milan Vrbovský, the Consul General of the Slovak Republic.
Mr. Vrbovský earned a doctoral degree in philosophy at Trnava University in Slovakia, then worked at the Human Rights and Minorities Department of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic for several years. In 2012 he joined his nation’s foreign service and was named consul general to the United States in 2021.

About Our Speaker
Milan Vrbovský was named a consul general of the Slovak Republic in New York City in August 2021. His previous posting was at the Slovak Embassy in Ottawa, where he served as the deputy head of mission and consul.
After earning a doctoral degree in Philosophy at Trnava University, he worked at the Human Rights and Minorities Department of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic (2006-2012).
In 2012 he joined the Slovak Foreign Service, where he worked at the Human Rights Unit (2012-2013), Legal and Consular Section (2013-2015) and as a member of the Cabinet of Foreign Ministers Miroslav Lajčák and Ivan Korčok (2019-2021).
He is married to Zuzana Vrbovska and has three children.
