Curious about a career in public service?
Three recent UF grads — Hannah Townley, Gus Duran and Grace Banahan — shared their journeys, challenges, and lessons as they have embarked on their public service careers. This event featured a panel discussion, followed by a moderated Q&A session.
About the Speakers
Hannah Townley (B.A. Political Science & English, 2021) is a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she focuses on climate security and defense community training related to women, peace, and security.
Gus Duran (B.A. Political Science & History, 2022) is a senior social media strategist at the Center for American Progress, where he crafts digital narratives that drive progressive change.
Grace Banahan (B.A. Political Science, B.S., Journalism 2022) serves as the Trade Policy Officer at the British Embassy in Washington, DC. She has been with the Embassy since January 2024, and she supports the Trade Policy team across various portfolios including federal trade and tariff policy.
