Please join us for Careers in Public Service with three UF and Bob Graham Center alumni working in Washington, D.C. – Priya Amilineni, Gloria Li, and Kayla Ratnasamy. You will have the chance to speak with them and learn about internships, fellowships, job opportunities, and graduate programs.

Come ready to ask your pressing questions about their time at UF and the Bob Graham Center and discover how they positioned themselves for careers in public service.

About Our Speakers

kayla ratnasamyKayla Ratnasamy currently works as a political appointee in the Biden-Harris Administration at the U.S. Department of Education serving as the Deputy Director of Scheduling for Secretary Miguel Cardona. Prior to working at the Department, she was on NASA’s political appointee team as the special assistant to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. Her political experience began in 2020 as a legislative affairs intern in then Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried’s office, through the Bob Graham Center’s Tallahassee Internship Program. A UF ’21 graduate, she earned her BA in political science with a minor in voice performance. Born and raised on Florida’s Space Coast, she is the proud daughter of Indian immigrant parents.

Priya AmilineniPriya Amilineni is from Sanford, Florida and graduated with degrees in political science and biology and with a minor in health disparities in society. She participated in almost every program offered by the Graham Center and credits it with creating a strong foundation for her career in public service. She is interested in all things social and health policy and started her career as a policy analyst at Florida’s Refugee Services Agency. She recently left her role as a Health Legislative Correspondent at the Office of Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) to become a Senior Legislative Assistant at AmeriCorps as a Biden-Harris political appointee.

gloria liGloria Li grew up on the coast in Jacksonville, Florida and studied environmental science and philosophy at the University of Florida, where the Bob Graham Center was her second home. She graduated with her master’s in data science for public policy from Georgetown in 2022. Gloria currently works as an energy consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and recently co-founded an autonomous mobility startup with fellow Gators. Her previous professional experiences include NextEra Energy, the White House Council for Environmental Quality, and the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
