24 years of Housework and the Place is still a Mess – Pat Schroeder

September 16, 2013

Pat Schroeder was the first woman elected to Congress from Colorado in 1972. Schroeder quickly became an advocate for work-family and women’s issues, making her a key player in the passage of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. She also ran for president in 1988. Schroeder brought her years of experience as a former member of Congress and politician to the Bob Graham Center on Monday, Sept. 16 before an audience of more than 125 people.

Schroeder discussed multiple topics centered on civic engagement, including offering her views on the current political climate and the importance of an educated and engaged citizenry.
