Bob Graham Center commercial awarded Suncoast Regional Emmy®

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A video commercial commissioned by the University of Florida’s Bob Graham Center for Public Service has been awarded a Suncoast Regional Emmy® by the National Academy of Television Arts.

The commercial features University of Florida graduate Jayce Victor. Victor received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a minor in public leadership from the Bob Graham Center for Public Service in May of 2014. He was instrumental in the development of the Bob Graham Center’s Future of Florida Student Summit, now in its fourth year.

“We have the great pleasure of working with some of UF’s finest undergraduate students and Jayce is a shining example of this,” said Shelby Taylor, Communications Director, Bob Graham Center for Public Service. ”His dedicated leadership captured our attention from the very beginning and his story speaks to the impact that a center, like ours, can have on the students that we work with.”

After graduation, Jayce was one of 25 individuals selected for the prestigious New York City Urban Fellowship where he was assigned to work with the Department of Education, an experience that led him to pursue a career as an urban-area educator. He now works as a social studies teacher at Harlem Village Academy Middle School in New York.

“We are very proud of the work that our Graham Center students do on campus and in the community. We are particularly pleased that Gary Yordon and the Zachary Group captured the work of students like Jayce and the work we do at the Center in training the next generation of leaders,” Taylor said.
