Barometer Florida is an i-civics tool under development by the Bob Graham Center for Public Service aimed at creating local, regional and statewide benchmarks on vital issues facing Florida. Funded by the Knight Foundation, this interactive platform gives citizens easy access to data and insights from local leaders, allowing users to track progress on key indicators over time.
Our inaugural topic for 2020 explores climate change impacts and preparedness at the community level in Florida. The Graham Center’s Civic Scholars—67 top undergraduates working under the supervision of our faculty director, our Data Fellow and seven peer mentors—collected data and interviewed officials in Florida’s 67 counties. We’ve also curated some of the climate resources we’ve found the most valuable for those who want more.
