Jon Mills
Jon Mills is Dean Emeritus and Professor Emeritus at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he also served as Director of the Center for Governmental Responsibility. A former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, he has been a leader in shaping state and national policy on constitutional law, privacy, and legislative reform. Mills was a member of the 1997-1998 Florida Constitution Revision Commission, where he chaired the Style and Drafting Committee and was recognized as its Most Valuable Member. He has advised on major privacy and cybersecurity cases, representing high-profile clients in matters of digital security and personal privacy rights. He has also taught and lectured globally on privacy law, state constitutional law, and public policy. An internationally recognized expert in privacy and cyber law, Mills has authored Privacy: The Lost Right and Privacy in the New Media Age and has been widely quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. He has appeared on CNN, NPR, and the BBC to discuss legal and policy issues. Mills holds a B.A. from Stetson University and a J.D. from the University of Florida, where he graduated with honors.
