Mike Bedke
Mike Bedke is a partner at DLA Piper, where he leads the firm’s Florida transactional group. A “double Gator,” he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida, where he served as Student Body President and was a member of Law Review and Order of the Coif. Nationally recognized for his pro bono work, Bedke has provided free legal assistance to disaster victims, survivors of domestic violence, and military veterans. He played a key role in legal relief efforts following Hurricane Andrew, the Oklahoma City bombing, and September 11. He also worked to pass Good Samaritan legislation, making it easier for attorneys to provide pro bono assistance to disaster survivors. Internationally, he has advised on domestic violence legislation in Peru and trained legal professionals in Romania on handling gender-based violence cases. Beyond his legal career, Bedke is a dedicated endurance athlete, having competed in the IRONMAN World Championship, marathons in 22 states, and the grueling 150-mile Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert. He remains actively involved in legal service initiatives, mentoring the next generation of lawyers, and advancing programs that expand access to justice for underserved communities.
