Matt Jacobs, Ph.D.
Dr. Matt Jacobs is an educator and academic leader committed to advancing undergraduate education and student success. He currently serves as Interim Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and Student Success at the University of Florida, where he oversees key initiatives supporting academic learning, experiential education, university advising, and academic pathways.
An associate professor of U.S. and international history, Dr. Jacobs has been widely recognized for his dedication to undergraduate teaching and mentorship. His work has earned him numerous honors, including the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Teacher of the Year Award in 2010 and the CLAS Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Education in 2018. He has also directed the International Studies Program and founded the Learning without Borders initiative, both designed to enhance students’ global learning experiences.
Prior to his appointment in the Provost’s Office, Dr. Jacobs served as Director of the Bob Graham Center for Public Service for six and a half years, where he championed civic engagement, public leadership, and interdisciplinary education. He remains actively involved with the Graham Center during its leadership transition.
