Throughout NATO’s long history the alliance has faced repeated crises and continuous predictions that it would soon collapse. Although NATO has endured, it is once again facing a moment of crisis as leaders grapple with a solution to the Russo-Ukraine conflict.
Join international relations expert Timothy Sayle of the University of Toronto for this timely and in-person lecture examining the historical connections between NATO’s Cold War inception and the crisis of today. Sayle is the author of Enduring Alliance: A History of NATO and the Postwar Global Order (2019), a sweeping history of the most critical alliance in the Post-WWII era.
This is an in-person event. Free parking will be provided at the Murphree Hall parking lot on University Avenue, directly across from St. Augustine church. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be streamed at this link.
