Rethinking Modern Counterterrorism

April 13, 2017

John J. Mulligan, the deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center, spoke at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, in the Pugh Hall Ocora on the current terrorist threat environment, both global and national, reviewing recent history and examining the evolving nature of terrorist threats. Mulligan describes current challenges facing the U.S. counterterrorism mission and the manner in which the U.S. has sought to adapt to both changing terror methods and a changing operational landscape. He also suggests ideas on how to frame this problem in the longer term while addressing more immediate security requirements.

The event was cosponsored by the University of Florida Department of Political Science and the Bob Graham Center for Public Service.
