Teresa Cornacchione, Ph.D.

Teresa Cornacchione, PhD, possess nearly 20 years of teaching experience at both the secondary and the postsecondary levels. She is excited to serve as the Center's Civic Engagement Coordinator, overseeing student voting efforts. She earned her doctorate in political science from Florida State University in 2018. Her research focuses primarily on legislative behavior of women, and on radical and anti-establishment political parties. She has publications in The Journal of Women, Politics, and Policy and Political Behavior. At the secondary level, Teresa has taught advanced placement courses and sponsored student activities such as Model United Nations and Student Government. At the university level, she has taught a variety of courses including Western European Politics, Women in Politics, Florida Legislative Politics, and American Politics. In addition to her academic career, Teresa served as a Legislative Policy Analyst in the Florida Legislature's Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA). She loves working with undergraduate students on their research, and helping them on their journey while at UF.
