Typical Activities
Through guest speakers, panels, workshops and more, council members have the opportunity to hone professional skills to succeed through involvement at UF and beyond.
Meetings also concentrate on personal growth that is not tied to career development. Council members learn how to invest in their hobbies, talents, passions and identities, and how it improves their quality of life.
Council members work in teams to program an event once a semester that positively impacts the UF student body or the Gainesville community. In all of the event and activities, members aspire to cultivate an unshakable community of leaders. Examples include a panel of speakers addressing gender equality, a multi-cultural celebration, and a day of service at Grace Marketplace.
The Council was founded as an agency of the UF Student Government Association in 2004, and moved to the Bob Graham Center in 2020. To date, the Council has more than 800 alumni and has programmed more than 160 events. Alumni remain active through the Council’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
