The History of Felon Disenfranchisement in Florida

February 22, 2018

The Milbauer Program in Southern History welcomed Pippa Holloway, professor of history at Middle Tennessee State University and author of Felon Disenfranchisementand the History of American Citizenship, to speak at the Bob Graham Center on Feb. 22 at 6 p.m.  The program focused on the history of disenfranchisement for criminal convictions in the United States and specifically in Florida and examined the many forces that have resulted in a national consensus that certain categories of criminals should be permanently disenfranchised.
