Katie Sanders is a PunditFact staff writer based in St. Petersburg, Fla. Before PunditFact, Sanders wrote for PolitiFact for the Tallahassee bureau of the Tampa Bay Times and Miami Herald. Sanders spoke at the Bob Graham Center on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Pugh Hall Ocora before a crowd of nealy 100. Sanders addressed the role that fact-checkers, like PolitiFact, play in providing analysis and accountability in the world of 24-hour news, social media and an increase in the art of political spin.
The event is sponsored by the Gainesville Sun, the Bob Graham Center and the College of Journalism and Communications.
