Mary Chiles

Mary Chiles is a public relations professional that has passionately served Floridians for more than 28 years. She joined Gov. Graham’s administration in 1980 as the Public Relations Coordinator for the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. There she helped to institute and promote the Sunshine State Games. Chiles served as the County Organization Director for Gov. Graham’s first U.S. Senate race. After Graham’s successful campaign, Chiles was appointed as the Director of Constituency Services, overseeing thousands of public requests for assistance with government services. She was later named State Director, organizing Sen. Graham’s schedule and outreach activities including his notable “workdays.” After Graham retired, Chiles joined Sen. Bill Nelson’s staff as a Regional Director. Chiles was instrumental in the University of Florida Foundation’s fundraising efforts to establish the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. A University of Florida alumna, Chiles received her bachelors and masters degrees from the College of Journalism and Communications. She is a Leadership Florida and Leadership Gainesville graduate and is involved in many community activities. She works as a church Deacon and literacy program volunteer, a volunteer at The Tallahassee Leon Shelter and a board member for Sustainable Tallahassee.
